Active Scout Volunteer
Scouting has been my life I grew up with it - as a Cub, Scout, Senior Scout - then I became a scout leader back in Manchester. On moving to Devon, my son joined the cubs and I decided to help again. Firstly joining the scout committee, I then went on to be Group Scout Leader. My son left soon after and here I am 27 years later!
More recently I have been on the general group committee. My main role is to support the group in getting a new building for the group. I also help to maintain the Salcombe Regis Activity Field; repairing equipment etc. I also run the archery lessons. I still love scouting; I feel it’s great for the young people and for the adult volunteers. It teaches them so much about life and you meet some lovely people. My vision is to see a new building at the field. It would be my final aim and it would give me so much satisfaction knowing scouting is secure in the Sid Valley.
